The POD is a tiny holiday home (36m2) located in the South Downs National Park. Sussex, UK. The steel frame, timber clad form is sunk into the landscape enabling it to combine with a series of external rooms which provide a chain of living spaces with various levels of shade, warmth and solar protection. The clients aim was to include the green roof and landscaping to make it as much part of the landscape as it is a building. The stratified timber cladding is a nod to the extrusion of the home from the ground. Bifold doors open on to a patio which is a mirror of the internal floor doubling the percieved and useable space in good weather..
